European Tour, Summer 2011
I think likely the main reason my music is built on repetitive passages is that my mind is built on them. I think just like my music sounds; one thought loops over and over, becomes more and more intense, and layers of more thoughts build on top of it, until it often becomes so consuming I sometimes literally forget everything around me.
in lieu of a proper update

Fabric London, this Friday 19 November.
updates coming soon.
Voids
—
Hello my friends—
Today I’m releasing “Voids”, One & Two. It’s a collection of songs I want you to have. There’s so much I could say about it all, but I’d rather you just go and listen.
Head over to music.djgsound.com and download both volumes. You can download them for free, or if you choose you can donate whatever you deem appropriate.
I hope you enjoy.
Blessings,
Dean (DJG)

Loops, Patterns, Modulation
Obviously, all these things, you look at what’s going on and you look at the state of affairs today, you see that some sounds and some producers are now playing on different platforms, maybe to bigger platforms, maybe to smaller platforms - everything’s always changing. And if you are somebody who focuses on what other people do too much, inevitably that might be your downfall.
‘Hydrate’ out today

In a climate that’s driving so many D’n’B producers towards dubstep, there’s a small but noticeable trend of producers looking to higher tempos (Scuba, Ramadanman, SYNKRO) to expand their sound. DJG joins their ranks on ‘Hydrate’, backed with a Consequence remix for moral support. His title cut should slip neatly alongside the Autonomic posse’s minimalist sound with its swollen Reese bass and quicksilver syncopations, while the dub drops right down to sound like Scuba mixed with Andreas Tilliander on a dubtech tip. Meanwhile Consequence offers one of his most esoteric tracks to date with raga-esque drones and tricky scuttling steppers patterns.
